Embryo & Sperm Freezing in Delhi
Surplus embryos and sperm samples are vitrified and stored for future cycles.
What embryo & sperm freezing involves
Freezing turns one retrieval into several chances. Good-quality blastocysts that are not transferred are vitrified and can be used months or years later without repeating stimulation, which is both cheaper and far easier on the body.
Sperm freezing is used before cancer treatment, before vasectomy, where the male partner cannot be present on the day of retrieval, and where counts fluctuate badly enough that a backup sample is wise.
Who this is for
- Surplus blastocysts after a fresh transfer
- Men travelling or unavailable on the retrieval day
- Before chemotherapy, radiotherapy or testicular surgery
- Severely fluctuating or very low sperm counts
Not everything on this list means you need this treatment. The workup comes first, and the recommendation follows from what it shows — not from what was booked before you arrived.
Step by step
Consent and counselling
Storage duration, consent and the legal position are explained and documented before anything is frozen.
Vitrification
Ultra-rapid freezing avoids the ice crystal damage that older slow-freeze methods caused.
Storage
Samples are held in monitored, alarmed liquid nitrogen tanks with duplicate identity checks.
Warming and use
Survival is confirmed on thaw before any procedure proceeds.
Your results, in writing
Whatever the outcome of embryo & sperm freezing, you leave each stage with the findings written down — what was done, what was found, what it means, and what the options are from here. Reports are issued the same day wherever the laboratory allows it.
What is different about having this done here
Duplicate witness identity checks at every step
Alarmed, continuously monitored cryostorage
Storage renewals communicated well before expiry
Backup sperm sample frozen free before every ICSI cycle where counts are unstable
Treated by the consultant, not by a rotating team
Dr. Tiwari performs the scans, the procedure and the follow-up herself, and looks after any pregnancy that results. Over a long treatment course that continuity is the difference between being known and being processed.
- MBBS, MS (Obstetrics & Gynaecology), FNB (Reproductive Medicine)
- Over ten years in reproductive medicine and gynaecological surgery
- Previous treatment records from other centres read in full
- Itemised costs given in writing before anything begins

Areas we see patients from
Both clinics are in South Delhi. Patients travelling from further out have appointments grouped to cut down the number of trips.
Questions about embryo & sperm freezing
What are the storage charges?
Storage is billed annually and quoted to you in writing before freezing. We contact you before each renewal.
What happens to unused embryos?
Your options — continued storage, donation for research where permitted, or disposal — are set out in the consent form, and nothing is done without your written instruction.
Talk it through before you commit
Consultations run for a full hour. Bring any previous reports — they are reviewed properly, not repeated.
