Fibroid Treatment & Myomectomy in Delhi

Assessment and removal of uterine fibroids, with the uterus preserved wherever possible.

What fibroid treatment & myomectomy involves

Fibroids are benign muscle growths in the uterine wall. Most cause no trouble. Those that do cause heavy bleeding, pressure symptoms, recurrent miscarriage or infertility, and whether they matter depends far more on their position than their size.

A 2 cm submucous fibroid distorting the cavity affects fertility more than an 8 cm one on the outer surface. The assessment therefore starts with mapping, and surgery is recommended only where the fibroid explains the symptom.

Who this is for

  • Heavy or prolonged periods with anaemia
  • Pressure symptoms, urinary frequency or abdominal swelling
  • Submucous fibroids distorting the uterine cavity
  • Recurrent miscarriage or failed implantation with fibroids present

Not everything on this list means you need this treatment. The workup comes first, and the recommendation follows from what it shows — not from what was booked before you arrived.

Step by step

  1. Mapping

Transvaginal ultrasound, and saline sonography or hysteroscopy to define the relationship to the cavity.

  2. Decision

Observation, medical management or surgery, based on symptoms and fertility plans.

  3. Hysteroscopic myomectomy

Submucous fibroids removed through the cervix with no abdominal incision.

  4. Laparoscopic myomectomy

Intramural and subserosal fibroids removed through keyhole incisions with careful uterine repair.

Questions about fibroid treatment & myomectomy

Do all fibroids need removal?

No. Asymptomatic fibroids that do not distort the cavity are usually just monitored.

Can I conceive after myomectomy?

Yes. We normally advise waiting three to six months depending on how deeply the uterine wall was entered.

Will fibroids come back?

New ones can form. Recurrence over five years is around 15–30%, higher when many were removed.

Talk it through before you commit
