Hysteroscopy in Delhi
A direct look inside the uterine cavity, and correction of what is found in the same sitting.
What hysteroscopy involves
A hysteroscope passed through the cervix shows the uterine cavity directly. Ultrasound and HSG can both miss polyps, adhesions, septa and chronic inflammation that hysteroscopy shows plainly, which is why it matters so much before repeat IVF attempts.
Most polyps, small submucous fibroids, uterine septa and adhesions can be treated at the same time, with no abdominal incision at all.
Who this is for
- Before a repeat IVF cycle after failed implantation
- Abnormal or intermenstrual bleeding
- Suspected polyp, submucous fibroid, septum or adhesions
- Recurrent miscarriage
Not everything on this list means you need this treatment. The workup comes first, and the recommendation follows from what it shows — not from what was booked before you arrived.
Step by step
Timing
Scheduled in the first half of the cycle, when the lining is thin and the view is clearest.
Inspection
The cavity, both tubal openings and the endometrial surface are examined directly.
Operative correction
Polyps removed, adhesions divided, septa resected, fibroids resected as needed.
Biopsy
An endometrial sample taken where chronic endometritis is suspected.
Your results, in writing
Whatever the outcome of hysteroscopy, you leave each stage with the findings written down — what was done, what was found, what it means, and what the options are from here. Reports are issued the same day wherever the laboratory allows it.
What is different about having this done here
Office hysteroscopy available without general anaesthesia in suitable cases
Images and video shared with you afterwards
CD138 testing for chronic endometritis in repeated implantation failure
Usually combined with laparoscopy in one anaesthetic where both are indicated
Treated by the consultant, not by a rotating team
Dr. Tiwari performs the scans, the procedure and the follow-up herself, and looks after any pregnancy that results. Over a long treatment course that continuity is the difference between being known and being processed.
- MBBS, MS (Obstetrics & Gynaecology), FNB (Reproductive Medicine)

Areas we see patients from
Both clinics are in South Delhi. Patients travelling from further out have appointments grouped to cut down the number of trips.
Questions about hysteroscopy
Is hysteroscopy painful?
Diagnostic office hysteroscopy causes cramping similar to a period for a couple of minutes. Operative procedures are done under short anaesthesia.
Does hysteroscopy improve IVF success?
Where an abnormality is found and corrected, clearly yes. Several studies also suggest a modest benefit even with a normal cavity, thought to relate to endometrial scratching.
Talk it through before you commit
Consultations run for a full hour. Bring any previous reports — they are reviewed properly, not repeated.
